Hellsquad: RECON News!

Hellsquad: RECON is now in pre-production! This 6-episode web series & comic book mini-series is in casting and slated to begin production in March 2012. We held a round of auditions in November 2010 during the Chill of Distant Eyes casting, and several of the voice artists from those sessions are now part of the project.

We will be auditioning for remaining roles in February 2012 - dates & location will be posted on the RECON Facebook page as they are confirmed.

This story features a few characters from The Chill of Distant Eyes. And since RECON is vital backstory to the Chill feature film, our plan is to release it prior to the film. Comic book versions of each episode will also be available.

The upcoming Star Force 7 feature film, The Chill of Distant Eyes, is set on the Elven planet Despian. Six different exterior locations from this massive world were needed. The image above is the Elven City of Thal-Kilii.

Atharian's New Armor

Atharian's new armour is complete. This Elven Battle Mage was not content to wear the latest in sci-fi bikinis—no, she wanted something practical, battlegear that actually protected vital organs, not cater to the immaturity of the typical male fanboi. The suit still had to look good, though, so we turned to DAZ3D, Filter Forge, and Photoshop CS5 for content, software, and texturing options.

The suit model itself is a mashup of several stock outfits for DAZ' Victoria 3 model from several vendors. I custom textured the pieces in Photoshop and Filter Forge, and then brought these textures into DAZ Studio 3 Advanced for tweaking, tiling, reflections, etc. The result is what you see in the image below:
